Engineering Resilience: Building Skills for a Dynamic World
Welcome
Welcome to the ASEE Midwest Conference website. We are excited to have you join us for an experience of learning, networking, and growth. This year, our theme is “Engineering Resilience: Building Skills for a Dynamic World’. In engineering education, our students and their needs are constantly changing. As faculty, we recognize that adapting to these shifts is crucial. During the conference, we hope to create opportunities to explore the intersection of engineering resilience and educational innovation.

Turbulent Waters: Navigating Change and Building Resilience in Yourself and Your Students
Higher education has seen unprecedented change in 2025. In addition, advances in technology including Artificial Intelligence (AI) are changing the way we educate students. With all these transitions, sometimes it may seem like we are just surviving as engineering educators. This talk will discuss some strategies for building your skills for your resilience toolbox to help you navigate our dynamic world. You can also share many of these skills with your students to help them be better prepared for adversity and change. Let’s work to move from surviving to thriving!
